The newsgroup {{news|news.newusers.questions}} is not the proper place to post "personals" or requests or solicitations for boyfriends, girlfriends or partners. However, many newsgroups ''are'' devoted to such topics:

* There is a moderated newsgroup for the posting of personal ads named {{news|soc.personals}}.
* There is a non-moderated hierarchy and newsgroup within alt.* named {{news|alt.personals}}, with the related groups:
** {{news|alt.personals.ads}}
** {{news|alt.personals.bi}}
** {{news|alt.personals.bondage}}
** {{news|alt.personals.fetish}}
** {{news|alt.personals.poly}}
** {{news|alt.personals.spanking}}
* You may also have access to a local personals group, such as {{news|local.personals}} or *.personals, where the * is replaced by your local hierarchy, as in {{news|chi.personals}} or {{news|uk.personals}}.
