I joined the Big-8 Management Board on 25 April 2020.
I'm an assistant professor at the University of Manitoba, an associate research scientist at the Austrian Research Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Vienna and an associate faculty member at the Semantic Artificial Intelligence and Creativity Laboratory of Texas A&M University-Commerce.
I've been a denizen of Usenet since the early 1990s, when I accessed it through FidoNet gateways on local dial-up BBSes.
