Following the comment period, the Big-8 Management board has decided by consensus to remove the newsgroup comp.org.cpsr.announce. This group will be removed on 26 Feb 2007. RATIONALE: remove comp.org.cpsr.announce The newsgroup comp.org.cpsr.announce has not had any approved messages since January 1998. After its creation in 1994, the group had roughly a half dozen approvals per month in its first 2 years, this declined to 6 approvals for all of 1997, followed by a single approval in January 1998. Announcements and discussion about the CPSR (Computer Professionals for Social Responsibility) and its activities may occur in the unmoderated group comp.org.cpsr.talk. In addition, the CPSR maintains a web site http://www.cpsr.org/. HISTORY: The newsgroups comp.org.cpsr.announce (moderated) and comp.org.cpsr.talk (unmoderated) were created in April 1994. The moderated group was active for roughly 4 years, and has been inactive for the past 9 years.
