                                 RESULT
                  sci.research.eeg will not be created

The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 18 Jan 2007 initiated a five-day
period for final comments. Following this comment period, the Big-8
Management Board has decided by a vote to not create the group
sci.research.eeg.

Many members of the Board expressed concern with the lack of support
for this proposal from potential users other than the proponent.
Unless a number of current users of Usenet would read and post to the
group were it to be created, it is unlikely that the group would be
successful. No evidence of such a body of users was presented during
discussion of the proposal.

If the proponent wishes to resubmit his proposal, he should first
find a pool of users on Usenet who would read and post to the group
were it to be created, and who would be willing to post messages
saying this in news.groups.proposals during discussion of the
proposal.

The vote was 1 in favor, 8 opposed, and 1 explicit abstention.
