                      REQUEST FOR DISCUSSION (RFD)
                     remove comp.org.cpsr.announce

This is a formal Request For Discussion (RFD) to remove the moderated
newsgroup comp.org.cpsr.announce.

RATIONALE: remove comp.org.cpsr.announce

The newsgroup comp.org.cpsr.announce has not had any approved messages
since January 1998. After its creation in 1994, the group had roughly
a half dozen approvals per month in its first 2 years, this declined
to 6 approvals for all of 1997, followed by a single approval in
January 1998.

Announcements and discussion about the CPSR (Computer Professionals
for Social Responsibility) and its activities may occur in the
unmoderated group comp.org.cpsr.talk. In addition, the CPSR maintains
a web site http://www.cpsr.org/.

HISTORY:

The newsgroups comp.org.cpsr.announce (moderated) and
comp.org.cpsr.talk (unmoderated) were created in April 1994. The
moderated group was active for roughly 4 years, and has been inactive
for the past 9 years.
