Publicity

JE reported on an e-mail he received from Brian Osborn, General Editor/CEO/Publisher of Linux Magazine, who has expressed interest in the reconstitution of the B8MB and invited us to send a press release. TM reported he hasn't yet produced the press release, but that we should hold off until we've had at least a few minor accomplishments to show for (namely, getting STUMP and WebSTUMP on Savannah and restoring moderation of comp.ai comp.ai on Google Groups and/or comp.os.linux.announce comp.os.linux.announce on Google Groups).

WebSTUMP

TM reported that our submission of WebSTUMP to Savannah is still on hold pending improvement of the copyright/licence notices.

JE reported that he is converting the STUMP documentation to Texinfo.

The meeting discussed where to host the new websites for STUMP and WebSTUMP; it was decided to use the repository provided by Savannah, and add a shim page on the B8MB wiki that links to it.

Moderation

JE reported that he has not yet had a response from Dario re comp.os.linux.announce comp.os.linux.announce on Google Groups.

RL reported that Todd McComb has changed the submission address for comp.ai comp.ai on Google Groups. RL is still troubleshooting a problem whereby submitters aren't receiving rejection notices.

Admin

JE reported that Paul Schleck has offered help on finding dead newsgroups, for which he has an automated tool. JE has already expressed interest and is waiting to hear back.
