From Usenet Big-8 Management Board
- Administration
- Moderator volunteer for soc.history.war.world-war-ii
- TM posted the announcement of the new moderator.
- Removal of rec.radio.broadcasting
- TM has posted a follow-up to the LCC indicating that the matter is on hold pending further discussion with the volunteer.
- RL has been continuing to discuss the moderation setup with the volunteer.
- Moderation status of news.admin.technical
- Scott Hazen Mueller has responded, indicating that he informed Todd McComb of the ISC in July 2018 that he was shutting down his moderation infrastructure. The ISC changed the group forwarding to a "no moderator info" responder. The affected Big-8 groups include:
- TM to check with Scott Hazen Mueller whether he attempted to find any replacement moderators.
- TM to respond to Marco's query about news.admin.technical
- Proposal to revitalize comp.os.plan9
- RL investigated historical documents and discussions concerning changing the moderation status of a group. He found that past MVIs had actually given the option of changing moderation status from moderated to unmoderated, but that the Board had removed this language at some point. He also found that RFC 5537 from 2009 apparently provides for changing the moderation status of a group. RL to include a summary of these findings in the discussion thread he will be starting in news.groups.proposals , news.admin.moderation , and news.software.nntp .
