    • rec.radio.broadcasting rec.radio.broadcasting on Google Groups
      • Last contact from Jay Henning on 2024-10-31. RL wrote to him on 2024-12-04 requesting an update. RL to write to him again with a firm deadline of one week, after which we will proceed with our deletion vote.
    • comp.os.plan9 comp.os.plan9 on Google Groups
      • Anthony wrote on 2024-12-11 that he has set up e-mail addresses and a website for the group. TM to review these and, if everything is in order, inform the ISC about the new submission address, coordinate the announcement about the change in moderator, and close the MVI.
    • comp.lang.asm.x86 comp.lang.asm.x86 on Google Groups
      • On 2024-12-08 Terje wrote to the other two volunteers, offering to keep the approval address on his server. Awaiting further details.
    • news.groups.proposals
      • The group's signing key uses the e-mail address ngp-approval-key@ngp.big-8.org. Agreed to leave this as-is for now, as this is just an identifier. We can later consider adding a new identity with a new address, and/or upgrading to a GPGv2 key.
    • comp.compression.research comp.compression.research on Google Groups
      • TM still to prepare a group removal RFD.
    • Moderated groups without moderators
      • MM prepared a draft RFD for a mass cull. TM and RL to review and comment via e-mail.
    • news.admin.announce
      • TM discovered that this group was previously discussed at Minutes/2020-12-04; TM was to have installed a STUMP instance for Tim Skirvin to resume moderation but evidently this had fallen off his radar. TM to ask Tim if he is still interested in moderating the group.
    • misc.test.moderated misc.test.moderated on Google Groups
      • TM wrote to Jonathan Kamens and received a response on 2024-12-06 suggesting that the potential for abuse could be mitigated introducing rate-limiting.
      • On 2024-12-10 Ivo Gandolfo wrote offering to run the autoresponder. Agreed to accept this offer; MM to get the new submission address from Ivo and notify the ISC.
  • Infrastructure
    • RL reports he can connect to Jitsi while authenticated, so we will continue to use it for meetings.
    • Status of cron jobs for offsite backups: No further update from RL.
    • Remote monitoring
      • MM has been investigating Munin but Debian packages only an older version.
      • In Ivo Gandolfo's e-mail of 2024-12-10, he offered to set up remote monitoring for us. Agreed to accept this offer; MM to liaise with Ivo about this.
  • Software/funding
    • TM: No update yet on GPG signing best practices on Savannah
    • Thunderbird 128 contact deferred given Julien's comments on INN.
    • TM still to respond to Julien.

  • Misc
    • Paul Schleck proposals: no further progress.
    • BDCAM25 is offering bursaries for attendees who are not institutionally supported. RL to look into these and to notify TM about his eligibility.
