              soc.women.lesbian-and-bi will be removed

The Last Call for Comments (LCC) on 2010-10-02 initiated a five-day
period for final comments.  Following this comment period, the Big-8
Management Board has decided by consensus to remove moderated group
soc.women.lesbian-and-bi.

RATIONALE:

Ayana Craven replied to a probe post, stating that there's still a
moderator, but that the group has been dead for several years.

Robin Miller, a member of the original moderation group, agrees that
the newsgroup has not panned out and suggests to remove it.

CHARTER OF SOC.WOMEN.LESBIAN-AND-BI

The group soc.women.lesbian-and-bi will be a forum for the discussion
of the lives of lesbian and bisexual women. The universe of potential
discourse will be limited only by the requirement of relevance and the
norm of civility.  Contributors need not, of course, themselves be
lesbian or bisexual women. Any submission satisfying the requirements
of relevance and civility and conforming to the group's moderation
policy will be accepted for posting.  Certain topics are clearly
inappropriate for this newsgroup. In particular, generalized political
or religious discussion of the legitimacy of the gay rights movement
or of same-sex orientation or conduct is beyond the scope of this
newsgroup. Other exclusions will be in accordance with the Moderator's
Handbook and policies developed in reliance thereon by the group's
moderators.

HISTORY OF THE GROUP:

soc.women.lesbian-and-bi is a moderated newsgroup which passed its vote for
creation by 458:56 as reported in news.announce.newgroups on 14 Aug 1995.
