RATIONALE: comp.os.ms-windows.win95.moderated I answered a request in the group in 1998 seeking volunteers to join the moderators and soon began doing the stats and administering the group. At that stage it was very active. Over time since then both moderators have resigned and the number of active/direct posts has diminished to the extent that I am the only active moderator and the last post I received for moderation was 12 months ago. All posts now coing in are autoposted spam. I think the group has now served its purpose but haven't yet been able to contact Bruce Baugh (the e-mail address from 1998 is no longer valid) who I think was instrumental in setting it up to ask his opinion of declaring it a dead group. I am happy to keep supporting it if it is felt there is case to maintain it but I think it is probably now dead. EXISTING CHARTER: comp.os.ms-windows.win95.moderated (None listed.) END CHARTER. PROCEDURE: As this is fairly untested ground, we have decided to discuss the proposal publicly before anything is changed. Please discuss this proposal in news.groups. DISTRIBUTION: This RFD has been posted to the following newsgroups: news.announce.newgroups news.groups comp.os.ms-windows.win95.moderated PROPONENT: Martin Tierney - Moderator, comp.os.ms-windows.win95.moderated CHANGE HISTORY: 2006-05-22 RFD formatted by Tim Skirvin. 2006-05-01 Original e-mail received by B8MB.
