    • TM to post LCC, per Procedure to remove newsgroups#Moderated newsgroups.

    • RL has set up a temporary STUMP instance for the group. He will now contact Greg Pfeil to confirm email addresses to use for notifications, group administration, etc.
  • comp.protocols.dns.bind
    • Last contact from Dan Mahoney on 2024-10-26. Agreed to defer consideration a while longer.
  • rec.radio.broadcasting
    • Last contact from Jay Henning on 2024-10-31. RL wrote to him on 2024-12-04 requesting an update, but received no response. RL wrote again on 2024-12-16 asking him to reply before 2024-12-20 to let us know his intentions. Still no response.
  • comp.os.plan9
    • TM has been corresponding with Anthony about publicizing the change in moderatorship. Awaiting an update from Anthony before closing the MVI.

    • On 2024-12-08 Terje wrote to the other two volunteers, offering to keep the approval address on his server. Awaiting further details.
  • news.groups.proposals
    • The group's signing key uses the e-mail address ngp-approval-key@ngp.big-8.org. Agreed to leave this as-is for now, as this is just an identifier. We can later consider adding a new identity with a new address, and/or upgrading to a GPGv2 key.
  • comp.compression.research
    • TM still to prepare a group removal RFD.
  • Moderated groups without moderators
    • TM and RL sent comments on the mass RFD via email. MM to prepare a new version that include these changes.
  • news.admin.announce
    • TM has written to Tim Skirvin to ask if he is still interested in moderating the group.
  • misc.test.moderated
    • TM was going to write to JK to confirm that the robomoderation software could post submissions to the group rather than acknowledge them by email. Awaiting update from TM.
    • On 2024-12-10 Ivo Gandolfo wrote offering to run the autoresponder. Agreed to accept this offer; MM to get the new submission address from Ivo and notify the ISC.
• Infrastructure
  • Status of cron jobs for offsite backups: No further update from RL.
  • Remote monitoring
    • MM has been investigating Munin but Debian packages only an older version.
    • MM liaising with Ivo Gandolfo to set up monitoring.
• Software/funding
  • TM: No update yet on GPG signing best practices on Savannah
  • Thunderbird 128 contact deferred given Julien's comments on INN.
  • TM still to respond to Julien.
  • OTF IFF/NGI0/Sovereign Tech Fund: no further updates
• Misc
  • Paul Schleck proposals: no further progress.
  • BDCAM25: RL looked into bursary information, will notify TM about his eligibility.
